North-facing room: what actually works
North-facing does not mean impossible. It means your margin is narrower and your plant selection must fit the light boundary.
Most people confuse shade tolerant with no-light tolerant. Shade tolerance is flexibility, not immunity.
Understand constraints first, then design your plant list.
A practical rule: within one meter from the window is usable for many foliage plants. Beyond two meters, choose lower-demand species and reduce expectations.
If possible, verify with a light reading. The goal is not perfection, only less guessing.
